"What have I done for people?" – Probably every artist, on many occasions, passes through this kind of expression. 1000 times their heart will be cut by its sharp edges and a lively, streaming pain would be reflected in their works by fragile rays of illumination. Only Love, relationship with the world and an understanding family can help the Artist to stay on the path, to stay lucid and continue to create. The greater is the talent of the Artist – the harder is their burden, and their suffering is more agonizing, and the fire of their candle burns brighter, yet faster.
Usually, my muse comes to me in the evenings, on the road, in taverns... It leaves its mark in a few lines, strokes, points... Time passes and suddenly, from chaotic sketches, appears a shape, which I carefully spread over the canvas. Then, I turn it to the wall and don’t look at it until it doesn’t call to me, as long as it’s not alive. After that – no school and no academy can explain what is happening: the merging of two souls, two bodies, two worlds... And who knows, God or the Devil weds us in a wicked passion of creation...
Today is my birthday. I'm another day closer to death. Who will I be next? A cold gray stone, lying by the roadside? A dry thistles desperately clinging to the hems of passing pilgrims? Or just dust on vanishing in distance roads? And maybe, I will be a wave crashing against a deserted rocky shore? Or maybe a soft cloud, melting into the blue sky? Or a guiding star leading stray ships to the Mooring of Hope...
